Android 2.3 Dual-SIM iBall Andi4.3j With Dual Batteries Launched For Rs 9500

iBall has added yet another Andi GSM smartphone to its range and the new device features Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). The newAndi4.3j is a dual-SIM (dual standby) phone, which is being touted as the first one to feature dual-battery. Highlighted as the USP of this gadget, there is a 1630 mAh battery and a 900 mAh one, thus providing a total capacity of 2530 mAh. This can come in handy when you are going to be away from a charging point for a long duration. It sports a 4.3" capacitive touchscreen with pixel dimensions of 800x480. The internal storage is a paltry 2 GB, which can be augmented by a microSD card (upto 32 GB).

There is no clear mention of whether the two batteries can be used independently of each other, with the second battery serving reserve power, because it would make sense then. What we do know is that both the batteries reside inside the phone at the same time. It would make sense if the phone comes with charger that can charge batteries externally to make the most of this feature, although it is again not known if such a charger is bundled along. Battery backup time has been conveniently left out of the specs sheet too. It is also not clear if Google Play can be accessed to install additional apps and games.

The iBall Andi4.3j is priced at Rs 9500 (MRP), and we hope the build quality won't be a let down. It must be noted that while the hardware can easily support Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), the handset still comes with an older version. At such price, the buyer will get stuck with an older OS when even with an extra 512 MB of RAM, this could well have support Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean).
