iOS devices can play podcasts within the native Music app — however, the features are rather limited. Users can't search for new podcasts and are always required to connect to a computer to transfer them to the device. Apple finally seems to have realised these shortcomings, making up for them with a new app calledPodcasts. Through this, users can browse through various categories, search for new audio and video podcasts, and download them.The UI is pretty neat, providing a radio-like feel when switching between different categories. Podcasts are available in over 40 languages, and the app makes things easier for users by listing the popular ones. A nifty toggle switch on the top of the app lets you alternate between audio and video podcasts. However, being a new app, it is prone to some issues, which will hopefully be fixed in subsequent updates. Finally, a Sleep Timer feature stops playing podcasts after a certain preset time.
