Android 4.0 Intex I-Buddy 7.2 Tablet Available On Snapdeal.com For Rs 5500

No matter how crowded the budget tablet segment gets, it doesn't stop manufacturers from releasing new products. The only Intextablet I have reviewed is the i-Tab, which came with a pair of sunglasses (I still haven't figured out why) and featured a super-tacky design. However, its latest slate, the I-Buddy 7.2, looks quite decent. While its official product page isn't live yet, the gadget is already selling on Snapdeal.com. Judging by the specs, the only difference between this slate and its predecessor, the I-Buddy 7, is in its looks.

For starters, the I-Buddy 7.2 features Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), and is powered by a 1 GHz CPU. Its 7" capacitive touchscreen has pixel dimensions of 800x480. Here is a detailed list of its specs:

A 7-inch tablet, the Intex I Buddy 7.2 runs on Android v4.0 (ICS), supported by the latest Adobe Flash Player 11, and is powered by a 1GHz Cortex A8 core A13 processor. It is also embedded with 512MB DDRIII RAM. The Intex I Buddy 7.2 is listed at Snapdeal.com for Rs 5,490 with a one-year warranty.

Other features include a standard USB port, a micro USB port, a 3.5mm earphone jack, a microSD TF slot along with HDMI support. The tablet also boasts of features such as a G-Sensor that allows for motion sensor based games.

Back in July, WickedLeak had launched its budget Android tablet, the WickedLeak Wammy Ethos.The 7-inch tablet supports 800 x 480p resolution and also features Bluetooth and tethering. Tipping the scales at just 450 grams, the tablet’s light build should allow convenient portability. It operates on a 1.2GHz processor, 512MB RAM and 4GB internal memory. The memory is extendable up to 32GB via microSD cards. It also features a mini USB port. The tablet houses a powerful 3,500mAh battery. Apart from Wi-Fi and 3G, the tablet features voice calling and SMS. The show is run by the Android ICS OS, while there are a host of preloaded apps such as Facebook and Skype. The tablet also supports navigation apps such as Google Maps.

Intex Launches Sense 3.0 Dual-SIM GSM Feature Phone With 3.2" Screen, Available For Rs 2800

Intex has officially added a new dual-SIM GSM phone to its portfolio with the Sense 3.0, aimed at college students. This feature phone comes with a 3.2" touchscreen, which is likely to be of the resistive type, and a 2 mp camera without flash that can reportedly double up as a webcam when the handset is connected to a PC. Other multimedia features include FM radio with recording, a media player, and audio \ video recording capability. While the internal storage has not been mentioned, it can support a 16 GB card via its microSD slot. Weighing just 122 grammes, this bar phone with rounded edges and a diamond-textured back for better grip has dimensions of 4.4" x 2.2" x 0.5" (12.1 mm).

Intex Announces i-Buddy 7" Tablet With Android 4.0 For Rs 6500

Intex has launched a new low-cost tablet, the i-Buddy, runningAndroid 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and powered by a 1 GHz CPU with Mali 400 GPU and 512 MB of system RAM. At just 9 mm, the company claims it is the slimmest 7" tablet in India. A five-point multi-touch capacitive screen is present, along with 4 GB of internal storage and a 32 GB microSD slot. A VGA camera situated at the front facilitates video chat.

Wi-Fi connectivity is supported, and users can also make use of the 3G network via Intex's wireless data card (sold separately). It comes pre-loaded with various applications, and you can add more via Google Play. As a promotional offer, Intex is providing a leather cover that has an attached slim keyboard valued at Rs 2600 for free. This effectively converts the slate into a netbook and greatly increases its productivity value. According to the PR representative I contacted, the i-Buddy will be available off the shelf across South India in a couple of days and all over India in the first week of August. It is currently listed on Snapdeal.com at Rs 6500. Although there is no mention of the free bundle on the website, the rep assured me that it will indeed be shipped along. Intex had earlier released the 8" i-Tab, which was price higher at Rs 9000 and yet came only with the older Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). The new i-Buddy certainly offers a lot more value at its current pricing than any other 7" tablet in the market as far as the specs are concerned.
