Windows 8 Shortcut Keys List - Every shortcut key you can use in Windows

Windows 8 Shortcut Keys Windows 8 would be officially released this October and we all are getting up geared t have a never witnessed before OS experience with the next big thing from Microsoft. Microsoft recently confirmed that Windows 8 would be officially released to masses in October and those who have already used Developer Preview, Consumer Preview,etc. know what it is. One common thing everyone uses in his day to day life while operating a system is the Shortcut keys. The keyboard can be very effectively used in Windows 8 to present a wide variety of shortcut keys combination for quicker access and better experience.

We all know that there is no Start Menu in Windows 8. The new start screen is your Metro Tile interface and there are many many more things you can't know till you use it. Coming back to the main shortcuts here are they as follows -

Win + A / Win + Space - Switches keyboard Layouts
Win + C - Brings Start menu with Time and date
Win + D - Shows the Standard Desktop Screen
Win + F - Allows you to search for files
Win + I  - Opens the Settings Sidebar 
Win + L - Lock Windows
WIN + O - Applies Rotation Lock
Win + P - Presents with Multi-Monitor options
Win + Q - Lists all Installed applications
Win + W - Instant search for settings.
Win + X - Opens oower user shortcut menu 
Win + Y - Desktop Glance
Win + Z - Shows the Application bar in Metro apps

Win + Page Up - Move Start screen to left Monitor

Win + (1-9) - Switches to the app as numbered on the Taskbar

Win + Left arrow- Snaps Desktop Window to left 
Win +  Right arrow - Snaps Desktop Window to right
Win +  Up arrow - Maximizes the Desktop Window
Win +  Down arrow - Minimizes or Restores the the Desktop Window 

Period Shortcuts

Win + . (period) - Snaps the Metro app to  right 
Win + . (period) + Shift - Snaps the Metro app to left

Win + Tab - Makes a Switch between currently opened apps
