MagicDisc is a freeware utility that not only lets you create optical disc images, but also load and manage them. Storing physical CDs \ DVDs usually results in an unorganized mess — unless you manage them meticulously, which is a time-consuming task. MagicDisc can be used in such situations to create and store images of your CD \ DVD collection on your hard drive. The software's virtual drive utility lets you easily load the images thus created and access them much faster than is possible with physical discs.

One nice little touch that this programme has over other virtual drive tools is that you're not required to restart your computer after installing it. The freeware utility works with almost every version ofWindows starting from Win 98 — except for Windows 8, which has its own virtual drive emulator. It also supports a variety of drive image formats, such as BIN (CDRWin), IMA \ IMG (Generic disc images), CIF(Easy CD Creator), NRG (Nero - Burning ROM), IMG \ CCD (CloneCD), MDF \ MDS (Fantom CD), VCD(Farstone Virtual Drive), VaporCD (Noum Vapor CDROM), P01 \ MD1 \ XA (Gear), VC4 \ 000 (Virtual CD),VDI (Virtuo CD Manager), C2D (WinOnCD), BWI \ BWT (BlindWrite), CDI (DiscJuggler), TAO \ DAO(Duplicator), and PDI (Instant Copy). Finally, tutorials have been provided by the developers on how to mount and unmount images — it doesn't get any easier than this!
